Daisy looked at the cookie in her hand. “I could leave a piece of this cookie to share with a bear –
like for Santa at Christmas.” The adults all looked horrified. “Oh, no,” Papa was quick to say. “Bears
are big and strong and tough. And they will eat anything.”
“Anything?”

Daisy asked. “Yes,” replied Papa. “Some animals, like deer and squirrels, are herbivores
which means they eat only plants and leaves and nuts and berries. Some animals, like
wolves, are carnivores which means they only eat meat.
